I have been getting little to no cooperation with my hosting company. They have experienced a hard disk failure, and I have been unable to access any of my information for 10 days. I have requested phone support, IM support, and I am still unable to access my information.
I would like to find out if I can force them to cooperate with me until I have gotten all the information stored on their server, returned to me. The information and database is 100% mine, but I am unable to access any of it because I cannot get into the cpanel of my site.
The company that I am having all the problems with is: TELA IT in Wilmington, DE. The owner, Andreas Horch, refuses to communicate and is not supplying the information needed to obtain access to our account.
I highly recommend that you do not do business with this company!!!!!
Can I sue a web hosting company?
you can file a suit against anyone...
that was actually going to be a joke, but it appears that might actually be good advice in your case. what else can you do? you may be flat out of luck. back-ups are your only savior sometimes.

Lawsuits aren't something to be taken lightly. If they have a legitimate problem which affects their customers and they can prove that they have not been irresponsible in their repairs, then you have no case (I'm not a lawyer.) You may be entitled to some kind of refund though. However, the refund will be much smaller than your legal fees.
The best thing to do would be to call your local newspapers or TV stations. They usually have some kind of 'consumer assistance' which helps people fight against immoral companies. I'm sure that Tela IT would not like the publicity.
