Is this a good price for web hosting?

A friend told me about this site and said its one of the best host he has had. AimCheap.com has a hosting plan for $0.99 a month for 1GB space and 100GB transfer. Is this a good deal?

Depends...do you really need all 100GB of data? There are sites that give you 5GB free. If you need 100GB of data, I think thats very cheap.





You should do some research for better deals, but to me, that sounds like a decent offer.

As long as you won't have too much stuff in your site. 1GB isn't that much if you are going to have a lot of pictures or video in you site.

The cost is too low. Basically if its too low then I am sure they would be putting more sites in a single server. So they wont be giving much performance or even I could say they might not be worried about the performance issue. If you want a good hosting company then probably you should try hosting companies where the cost is reasonable. Meaning not too low or not too high. This is the best option for starters. Also if someone is giving so cheap then they there should be hidden cost where you have chances of getting charged if you buy something additional. I have seen some low cost hosting companies not even have there own infrastructure. My recommendation would be

www.netandhost.com (Cost effective. Follow some best practices for performance)


www.melbourneit.com.au (Medium cost and good)





Basically I am using all three of them for my clients.
